Summary:

How can we learn to live well for Christ in today’s new culture and engage compellingly with the people we meet? Effective evangelism cannot be separated from dynamic discipleship. Let My People Grow is about how might we begin to create communities of growing whole-life apprentices who will together reach out to our needy nation.

In this follow up publication to Mark Greene’s 2003 booklet Imagine how we can reach the UK, Mark and Tracy argue that to reach the UK in today’s culture we must recover the central task of whole-life disciple-making. Exploring together the high and mysterious adventure of living the whole life of Christ in a fallen world. Applying and sharing the difference Jesus makes wherever He has placed us.

How might we learn to do this? The answer certainly doesn’t lie in a new resource or a new programme, although they play a part. The answer, the authors suggest, lies in recovering a way of seeing the comprehensive purposes of God in His world; seeing afresh the kind of life Christ intends for His disciples; rediscovering the character and purposes of the church and how we might encourage one another to live the Gospel in a way that connects to today’s world.

Let My People Grow starts to unpack the dynamics of a whole-life disciple-making church culture, focusing in particular on the values that underpin it. With case studies, a questionnaire and plenty of suggestions, Let My People Grow is a catalyst for individual Christians and churches who want to live authentically and holistically. Who want to learn to connect faith to the whole of their lives in today’s bewildering world.
