Isn't it amazing how God has created mankind to be creative?

Its inbuilt, we can't escape it only suppress it.

The role of the arts in contemporary culture is vital on so many levels. It captures a mood, it can define a generation yet why is the Church still playing catchup?

Art and the Afterlife

Hi there,

I wondered if any of you had seen the art series on Channel 5 called 'Judgement Day: Images of Heaven and Hell'.

It featured art historian Tim Marlow exploring the relationship beween art and the afterlife, from the ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead to Stanley Spencer's vision of heaven as a small English town. The images examined are not all from a Christian culture but it's amazing how many religions share a similar belief in the afterlife and interesting to see how that's been expressed through some beautiful works of art.

Hi. I'm studying for an MA, and am writing an essay on the use of Christian logos and icons on t-shirts in the secular world. If anyone has any info on the topic, or would like to discuss the subject,

With love (and extra resources, group-work ideas and links...)
