More about Imagine

Imagine was launched in 2003 with the publication of Imagine how we can reach the UK. This short article argued for the recovery of whole-life disciple-making as the key to sharing the Gospel in today's world:

“The UK will never be reached until we begin to create open, authentic, learning and praying communities that are focused on making whole-life disciples who live and share the Gospel wherever they relate to people in their daily lives.”

Some 4.5 million people go to church once a month or more. One person in thirteen. But the vast majority of Christians have not been helped to see that who they are and what they do everyday wherever they are, wherever they have influence, is significant to God.

Imagine dots gatheredIn our radically changed and rapidly changing post-Christian society many people are bewildered. But too many Christians increasingly see themselves like this, marginalised, in a corner, up against the ropes.

Imagine dots scatteredThe reality, however, is that the people of God are in the world - day after day. In schools and workplaces. Involved in politics and the arts. Relating to scores of people every week.

The challenge to the contemporary Church is how to equip people to live the 'ordinary life' in a robustly Christian way in today's new world.

In September 2005 Let My People Grow was published in idea - the Evangelical Alliance magazine, and by LICC. Let My People Grow is about how we might begin to create such apprentice communities.

Launched in Spring 2006, the Imagine DVD - Imagine how we can reach the UK is a new and exciting resource for churches and for small groups, which complements the two magazines. It's for Christians who want to address the challenge of living well as fruitful, missionary disciples in today's rapidly changing culture.
