I was at an elders meeting at one of the churches I consult with asking what difference the emphasis on whole-life discipleship had had on their lives.
One was a doctor who spoke about those patients he could treat but could not cure. They are now prayed for as part of his daily prayers. A new departure for him, but surely blessing for those being prayed for.
Another elder led the review process for his firm. He changed the format to address the issues of productivity and development that remained significant to the firm, but now also gave time to ask the workers about their everyday lives and whether there was any support that he and the firm could give them.
These two men, agents of grace, agents of the kingdom, working in ways that are conscious of God’s presence, but also living in ways that demonstrate God’s kindness.
