Michael's address was given at the launch of Mark Greene's latest book, The Best Idea in the World (also available from the LICC website) and focuses on the need for rethinking the way Christians seek to share their faith, because so many people have been switched off and distracted from the gospel message by a stereotyped portrait of Christianity as a heirarchical, individualistic religion lacking integrity.
To correct such a distorted perspective requires a radical shift in our thinking.
Michael's solution is to set about a social revolution by centralising the relational agenda in considering our approach to engagement. By providing a different way of viewing the world, and learning a new language through which we can express and define issues of public concern, such as development, poverty and social action, we can start to change the world.
