Prayer Support

PRAYER SUPPORT – BE A PARTNER WITH US

“Pray on every occasion with all kinds of prayers and requests…”   Ephesians 6.18

At LICC, we recognise the importance of prayer as the foundation of our ministry. As a team, we meet every morning to pray for the vision of LICC, for the work we are involved in, for our supporters and for each other. Do please join us in praying that God will guide and strengthen us for the work he has called us to do.

ACTIVITIES

The Imagine Project is a widely supported initiative to catalyse the growth of a whole-life disciple-making culture within the UK Church. The Project has just entered a new phase of experimental research and development with a number of pilot churches.

Neil Hudson is grateful for your prayers during the last quarter as we were establishing relationships with some of the pilot churches.  The last three months have been incredibly encouraging as we have seen church leaders welcome the challenge and support offered to create whole-life disciples.  Please continue to pray that as the work develops within the churches that the lay leaders will catch the vision and recognize that God has given them the gifts in the body of Christ that they need to ensure that people do grow into whole-life disciples.

Tracy Cotterell – we have been encouraged to look at how we might expand the pilot project and accelerate the dissemination phase of Imagine. Pray for wisdom as we explore how to approach these challenges and for the right levels of support to see them happen.

LICC Manchester
At the end of the second academic year, we are grateful for a series of fascinating conferences and seminars which have taken place. A new citywide website (web 2.0 format) promises to be a social network tool for us and will enable us to have an ongoing conversation with those interested in the LICC agenda. Please pray for the development of the communications strategy, enabling us to reach a wider group of people as we start to plan our autumn programme.

OUR PEOPLE

Mark Greene is completing a book on Relationships.

Antony Billington has joined LICC as Head of Faculty. Please pray for him as he settles in and builds relationship with the team.

Nigel Hopper has joined us as Lecturer in Contemporary Culture and Communications Manager. Please pray for him as he starts writing our Connecting with Culture articles and plans how best we can develop our website.

Jason Gardner is currently developing a research project looking at youth discipleship in the UK.

Helen Parry is working on a creating a transferable shortened version of the Christian in Today’s World Course for use in Britain and overseas. She would value your prayers as she plans and writes this, working in conjunction with LICC’s Imagine team.

Our weekly emails, Connecting with Culture and Word for the Week – please pray for the on-going usefulness of the Word for the Week and praise for the number of people who tell us how helpful they have been. Please pray for Margaret Killingray and for Helen Parry as they explore some new ideas for word for the week and for the website, and as we explore ideas for the future development of Toolbox.

Paul Wilson, our Operations Director outlines 3 prayer requests:

·    We would like to develop the level of general prayer support for LICC.  Please pray that we would be able to identify and engage with a network of intercessors who feel called to pray for our ministry - for wisdom, strength, frutifulness and protection.  Please email Paul if you can help.
·    With Nigel Hopper's appointment as communications manager, we are now progressing work on the development of our website's content and delivery capability as part of overall communications strategy. Please pray for wisdom as we assess our requirements, seek advice and move towards implementation.
·    Please pray for us as we continue to consider our building needs.  With a growing vision, our team is expanding and we need a more robust and comprehensive support infrastructure to make it all happen.   It would be wonderful to have a space in which LICC can thrive and flourish in the future.  We need help determining the way forward, wisdom in recognising the right location and setup, and financial provision to cover the significant costs involved.   Further information can be found here.

Stephanie Smith is our Customer Services Manager. Please pray that she will be able to provide outstanding service to those who are in contact with us.

Robert Hay, our Finance and Admin Manager, asks for prayers as he works on improving LICC’s finance systems and procedures.

Christina Winn is Mark Greene’s P.A. Please pray for her as she helps prepare for Mark’s engagements and as she has contact with a wide variety of Christian leaders and LICC supporters.

Ben Care has joined LICC part-time to assist the Imagine Project.

Our Finances. We are grateful for the great generosity of our supporters, but we are conscious that to fulfil the considerable opportunities that are presented to us, substantial additional funds must be generated. The LICC budget is required to rise by a further 15% this financial year to £845k in order to meet the demand generated.

St Peter’s. We would love more people to use our building. As well as being a great resource for both Christian and other groups, this is a significant source of income.  Further information on hiring St Peter's can be found here.
